Cub Camp – Aug Bank Holiday Weekend

Date: 1st Sep 2018 Author: Sarah Burns

The cubs arrived on Friday evening and settled into the camp. After a restless night they were up early (!) and all headed to London on tram & train to visit HMS Belfast which they really enjoyed. A quick lunch break and then it was off to the Tower Bridge experience with the glass floor, waving at the cars and pedestrians below. Then onto the other walkway with the mirrored ceiling and glass floor – highly amusing! Finally a stroll to The London Monument to climb 311 steps to the top to see the stunning views across London.  Back to camp for dinner and campfire with exhausted cubs leaders!

Sunday morning after breakfast the cubs had morning activities for climbing wall and . After lunch the weather turned so we utilised a local scout hut for Great Cb Bake Off and games to entertain them whilst it poured with rain. After dinner we headed back to camp to find the marquee partially collapsed which the leaders fixed quickly.

Monday, after breakfast we struck camp and were all headed home by 1pm.

Many Thanks to Baggy & Baloo for their time this weekend.
